Dr. Liz Snyder and her husband made East Anchorage their home in 2010, soon after Liz was hired as a professor of Public Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). Together they are raising two young sons, who are their constant source of joy and motivation. In her role as a UAA faculty member, Liz has taught classes on a variety of public health topics, and conducted research to improve food security, as well as water and sanitation services, in Alaska. Most recently, Liz worked with colleagues to perform essential public health research on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic for the Municipality of Anchorage. She was elected to the Alaska State House in 2020.
